SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
To apply for a summer internship at Coriell Institute for Medical Research, please forward your resume with a cover letter to Coriell Institute for Medical Research. Positions are available each summer for students who excel in science and have an interest in research to work in a real research laboratory. Resumes and letters must be received at Coriell by February 28th in order to be included in the review of all applicants for summer internships. Interviews will be scheduled following this review. There are a limited number of internships each summer in laboratories and offices throughout the Institute, including the Tissue Culture Laboratories, Nucleic Acids Biochemistry Laboratory, Molecular Biology Laboratories, Differentiated Cell Laboratory, Cryogenics, Cytogenetics Laboratory and in the research laboratories, as well as scientific data projects.
Projects for each intern are developed by the principal investigator/supervisor of the laboratory or office in which the intern will work. This information would be discussed at the time of each individual interview. Internships require a commitment for a period of at least ten weeks for college students and at least eight weeks for high school students (must be at least 17 years of age), Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. depending on the lab or office. A stipend of $7.75 per hour is paid. We have no provision for housing. Students must schedule time off for vacation either before beginning the internship program or at the conclusion of the program.
